(165) Another Day with the Dogs and Grillin's the Best

It’s been a really comfortable day today and we have tried to get outside somewhat with the temperatures in the low 80’s.
This has also been a dog weekend. We can tell the dogs are happy to have us both home and staying here with them. When we got up this morning Beeker was so excited he jumped around in circles. During our breakfast of cinnamon coffee cake, the dogs lay at our feet, happy that we were near. Later after household chores, we took the dogs with us on town errands. They love riding in the car with us. They love being where ever we are. This evening we decided to grill out and one of our favorite things to do is to set up the grill and then as the food is cooking we like to play with the dogs out in front of the house with them off leash. Beeks has always been good at staying in the yard and just curzin around with us. I like to toss the ball to him and try to get him to return to me with it. He loves to run after it but not very good at bringing it back. Max’s mission is always to try to find grass to chew. Tonight was no different. I had some plants to plant up in the front yard by the circle and both Max and Beeker went with me. Maxis listened very well and both were super obedient with their recalls when I was finished and ready to return to the grilling area.

The Maxie End report. So far not so good with Maxie’s new bland diet. We are continuing to feed him a modified BRAT’s diet, which now consists of Bananas, apples, peanut butter, rice, and green beans. He is now eating about 7/8th of what we give him and yet he isn’t processing it very well. I’m concerned about it. Truth is his only symptom is his output. In a few days we will add tuna to his diet. Hopefully that will help. Something’s gotta give. He has good energy for a Newfie and so it’s just the processing that isn’t working so well.
We don’t really have any big plans for tomorrow. We have talked about taking the dogs for a walk which will be good for all of us. The weather report is that the heat should be coming back as soon as Monday so we should take advantage of the decent weather while we have it. Our plan is to go out in the morning so that it isn’t too hot for Max. We don’t want to make it worse that it is already.
